Ae galera, primeira entrevista com uma banda gringa aqui no Powerpop Br!We Are The In Crowd é uma banda de Powerpop/Indie/Eletronica de Poughkeepsie, New York. É formada por Tay Jardine (vocal), Mike Ferri (baixo), Jordan Eckes (guitarra e voz), Cameron Hurley (guitarra) e Rob Chianelli (bateria). Eles misturam vocal feminino e masculino, e os caras mandam muito bem!

1- Como vocês se conheceram e formaram a banda?
Jordan e eu tocamos música juntos desde a 8 ª série e encontramos o Mike através da cena musical local e através de amigos em comum. Jordan, Mike e eu começamos a banda e crescia uma forte ligação junto musicalmente e como amigos. Essa banda acabou e então nós conhecemos a Tay através de amigos em comum e acertamos com isso. Cameron é o mais novo integrante da banda, Jordan e eu fomos para a escola com ele, que pediu para experimentar e encaixou perfeitamente. Agora todos nós somos melhores amigos :)
2- Quais foram as principais ideias para que se chegasse e se formasse o nome e o estilo da banda?
Todos nós podemos concordar com muitas bandas que todos nós amamos e obter inspiração, mas as principais influências provavelmente seria The Starting Line e Jimmy Eat World. Por sorte o nome da banda só entrou em vigor.
3- Quais são as influências da banda e o que andam ouvindo ultimamente?
Recentemente uma banda que eu tenha sido influenciado seria o Go Radio. Simplesmente fantástico.
4- Como avaliam a cena independente nos dias de hoje?
Acho que a cena independente é uma grande coisa, porque há sempre a concorrência e que faz todo mundo se esforçar mais para ser o melhor que pode ser e escrever as melhores canções possível.
5- Pra vocês, qual é o melhor momento: show, gravação ou composição?
Acho a composição e gravação é incrível porque eu adoro conhecer novas pessoas e todo o processo de gravação é grande porque o seu algo a partir do zero e, em seguida, tendo o produto final é muito gratificante.
6- Para que banda gostaria de abrir um show?
Eu adoraria fazer uma turnê com o The Starting Line, eu sempre olhei para eles.
7- Sobre a relação com internet, download essas coisas, vocês acreditam que isso atrapalha a banda ou ajudam? Vocês são a favor ou contra o download gratuito de músicas?
TOTALMENTE a favor! Baixar música ajuda uma banda de fora. Eu sei que se as pessoas realmente como a sua banda quer apoio que eles vão comprar seus CDs e merch e ajudá-lo. Mas se as pessoas baixarem suas músicas de graça, as pessoas ainda estão chegando lá com as mãos sobre ela que ainda é benéfico porque se eles gostam, eles virão para fora para um show e mostrar o seu apoio.
8- Aqui no Brasil, uma prática comum é fazer as bandas que estão começando, ter que vender uma cota de ingressos para tocar. Como é nos Estados Unidos para uma banda poder tocar no início da carreira?
Basicamente a mesma coisa! Se você receber um show, você tem que pegar em qualquer lugar 50-100 bilhetes e você tem que vender todos eles. Este é realmente um bom sistema porque ele faz o trabalho duro e faz a banda conseguir que as pessoas saiam para os shows locais.
9- Deixe um recado para quem acessa o Powerpop Br, e para os fãs da banda.
Se você tocar música, faz porque você a ama. Assumir riscos e fazer o que você pode, seguir seus sonhos.

1- How you met and formed the band?
Jordan and I have been playing music together since 8th grade and we met Mike through the local music scene and through common friends. Jordan Mike and I started a band and grew a strong connection together musically and as friends. That band fell through and then we met Tay through mutual friends and we hit it off. Cameron is the newest edition to the band, jordan and I went to high school with him so we asked him to try out and he fit us perfectly. Now we are all best friends :)
2- What were the main ideas that came to be formed and the name and style of the band?
We all can agree on many bands that we all love and get inspiration from but the main influences would probably be The Starting Line and Jimmy Eat world. The band name sorta just fell into place.
3- What are the influences of the band and what you've heard lately?
Lately a band that have I have been influenced by would be Go Radio. Simply amazing.
4- How to evaluate the independent scene today?
I think the independent scene is a great thing because there is always competition and that makes everyone just try harder to be the best you can be and write the best possible songs.
5- For you, what is the best time: show, recording or composition?
I think playing shows and recording is awesome because I love meeting new people and the whole processes of recording is great because its starting something from scratch and then having the final product is really rewarding.
6- For which band would like to open a show?
I would love to tour with The Starting Line, I have always looked up to them.
7- On the relationship with the Internet, download these things, you believe that this hinders the band or help? Are you in favor or against the free download of music?
Downloading music TOTALLY helps a band out. I know that if people really like your band and want to support you they will buy your cds and merch and help you out. But if people download your music for free, people are still getting there hands on it which is still beneficial because if they like it they will come out to a show and show their support.
8- Here in Brazil, a common practice is to make a bands that are starting, having to sell a quota of tickets to play. How is the United States for a band can play and shows thebeginning of a career?
Basically the same thing! If you get a show, you have to pick up anywhere from 50-100 tickets and you have to sell them all. This really is a good system because it makes the band work hard and get people to come out to the local shows.
9- Leave a message for those who access the Powerpop Br, and for the fans.
If you play music, do it because you love it. Take risks and do what ever you can to follow your dreams.
